The law can be a funny thing. Some judges like to slip humor into judicial decisions. Some people try to skirt around the law, and some even get pretty creative.

Share news stories featuring funny instances of the law, share amusing judicial decisions you have come across, share funny cases you read about in your casebooks. This is a place to showcase how weird this crazy profession of ours can be.

Have fun!

Rules:

1. Play nice. Remember the ABA's Code of Professional Responsibility, and treat each other with respect.
2. No spamming. Spam will be deleted and spammers will be kicked out of the group.
2(a). Advertising for LJ communities is ok, as long as they are in pari materia (similar in subject matter).
3. No marquees. Ever. They make some people's browsers crash.
4. Use LJ-cuts for ALL pictures and for longer entries. If you don't know how to use an LJ-cut, find out how here!.
5. Make sure to cite sources for news articles and give cites for cases, so we can all read them. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to find a case someone mentions and not being able to cuz there is insufficient information.
6. DO NOT SOLICIT LEGAL ADVICE IN THIS COMMUNITY. This is not the place for that.
7. Have fun!
8. This community is maintained by insertnamehere2. And by maintainer, he means dictator. So these rules will be enforced.
